Decanting is just a fancy word for moving wine from the bottle into a larger container. Decanting is done to either introduce air into a younger wines, allowing them to further reveal their aromatics and flavors, or to remove sediment from older wines by pouring out all the wine but the sediment at the bottom of the bottle. I love decanting with this pretty receptacle from Il Buco. Not only does it get the job done, but it can also serve as a display piece in your home
