2017 Otero Ramos Testamento Classic Torrontes | Mendoza, Argentina

Originally from Argentina, Torrontes is a super aromatic varietal comparable to Muscat and Malvasia. In fact, it is actually a cross between Muscat of Alexandria (a Mediterranean grape) and Criolla Chica (Spanish Mission grape). Unlike these other, comparable grapes though, Torrontes is rarely made in a sweet style, but is dry with lots of minerality and pronounced acidity. This Torrontes from Otero Ramos reflects many of the flavors Torrontes is known for with aromas of orange blossom, stone fruit, and jasmine. But it stands out for it’s subtlety and elegance, which can sometime be hard to find in Torrontes
